We start where nature started, beneath Earth's ancient oceans, where the very first fats were formed from plentiful carbon atoms.

THE PROCESS
Recreating the conditions found at deep-sea hydrothermal vents to produce carbon chains.
We take carbon from where it’s abundant — the atmosphere, the earth, and other emissions — and join it with hydrogen in the presence of a catalyst to create hydrocarbons, the foundation for fatty acids.
Nature is constantly reassembling its building blocks, unlocking energy along the way.

THE PROCESS
Just like the enzymatic processes that occur in cells, we combine fatty acids with glycerol, creating a compact, stable form of energy: triglycerides.
Triglycerides store and provide energy in all living plants and animals, and ultimately make up the foods we eat for fuel. Energy can’t be created, it can’t be destroyed – only transformed.
As a species we've evolved to enjoy our food, to move beyond fuel to flavor.

We formulate these triglycerides into ready-to-savor fats and oils.
Making food this way requires almost no land or water– and much less energy than even plants use to convert the sun’s energy into food. We're following nature's lead to draw a different path.
